At this house we installed window casing with plantation shutters, the shutters were installed after the window casing with an “inside mount” fashion. The “inside mount” shutters allow you to enjoy a rich style casing with a seal and apron and still have shutters installed.

This way we eliminated plantation shutters “standard exterior mount” esthetical problem that comes with no seal and apron and a poor casing style . Shutters also don’t wrap the casing all the way to the window, and leaves the drywall reveled between the casing and the window.
